The flight of wings
The Arts section has written about Maria-Thérèse Andersson several times in the past, mostly regarding her beautiful, almost painterly photographs, mainly of flowers. Maria-Thérèse Andersson certainly has an eye for beauty which she also demonstrates in her first book of poetry.
”Det som finns” is a beautiful poetry collection. A bird sweeps across the cover in muted colours. The bird then returns in a few black and white photographs throughout the book. ”Det som finns” is one long poem with the freedom of birds, but also their unprotectedness, as its theme. [quoted poetry, yet to be translated]
The poet moves between observing the birds and wanting to become one herself. [quote]It is not original; for all time, mankind has dreamt of having wings, of being able to fly; it is perhaps the most common fantasy. But Maria-Thérèse Andersson writes with such lightness, as if writing with a feather pen, if such an expression may be permitted, and she convinces the reader with her musical, rhythmic structure. Maria-Thérèse this is wonderful!! You do everything lightly, as if floating and I find that very admirable!!
