New music, PLEASE! / Ny musik SNÄLLA!

It's been so long since I found "new" music that I really liked. I want to go crazy over a new song or cd and play it on repeat! I don't want all good music to have died in the year 2000. Do you have any suggestions? This is what I tend to like the most: good lyrics, strong female voices (not too whispery), musicals, Elaine Paige, Ruthie Henshall, some opera and great singers like Cecilia Bartoli, Swedish singer Karin Bengtsdotter Olsson, rock-oriented poets like Heather Nova, Ani DiFranco. I like Alanis Morissette a lot but after her second album it went downhill for me. Love Tori Amos and Fiona Apple. Listened a bit to Liz Phair but no real favourite. I like Björk and a bit of triphop like Martina Topley-Bird. Goldfrapp, well, a bit.
Any suggestions?
Goldfrapp litegrann.
Några förslag?

Not really. I am a very weird person (I know you knew that already) and I like quiet. Very quiet. So I only listen to music in the car.

I don't know if I could help you or not ~ I like so many different types of music.

Have you heard anything by Lenka ("The Show"), Michael Buble ("Everything"), or Jason Mraz ("I'm Yours")? I like a little bit of everything so my taste in music usually doesn't make anyone happy! :)

I love John Martyn and Van Morrison. Otherwise, you could try: Kristy McColl, Amy McDonald, Duffy, Yael Naim.

Go to www.lastfm.com where you can listen to lots of artists and find new music!

Thanks for your suggestions so far!

Don't like Michael Buble :( I suppose I'm the only one.

I've listened a bit to Kirsty McCall in the past and like her. Too bad she died :(

Try Karine Polwart - lovely Scottish singer. I think 'Only One Way' is a fab track.

Hoppas PC-köpet gick bra!
